Redefining the Natural Shape and Position of the Breast
Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) restores shape and position to the breasts following pregnancy, breastfeeding, fluctuating weight, or when age-related changes and gravity cause them to sag. In South Florida, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Cooper frequently performs breast lift and other breast enhancement procedures. His extensive training and experience enable him to tailor your procedure to achieve the look that makes you happy.
Find out why women considering breast lifts come from Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and throughout South Florida to our practice in Jupiter. Request a consultation online with Dr. Cooper, or call his office at 561-406-6574 to have our staff member schedule your appointment.
Speaking From Experience
“As an attending surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital with a Harvard Medical School appointment, I specialized in cosmetic breast surgery. The techniques I learned make the difference between a good breast lift, and a great one.”
What Is a Breast Lift?
As its name implies, a breast lift elevates sagging breasts to give them a lifted, more youthful appearance. Dr. Cooper carefully evaluates a number of physical factors before creating a surgical plan, including the current nipple position, the elasticity of the skin covering the breast tissue, the shape of the breasts, and the degree of volume loss.
Women seeking a breast lift typically want to:
- Bring the breasts up to their youthful position
- Restore a more rounded shape to their breasts
- Reposition nipples that point downward
- Feel more confident about their breasts
If you want additional volume, especially in the upper breasts, Dr. Cooper may recommend combining the lift with breast augmentation. Combining breast implants with a breast lift is often done as part of a mommy makeover.

Customizing Your Breast Lift Procedure
A patient’s physical characteristics and cosmetic goals dictate the details of each surgery Dr. Cooper performs. The incisions used during your procedure will depend on your skin tone and degree of sagging, and the position of your nipples. There are 2 primary types of incisions Dr. Cooper uses for breast lift procedures:
Circumvertical: Also known as a “lollipop lift,” this procedure is usually used for patients with mild to moderate breast sagging. An incision is made around the areola (the dark area surrounding the nipple), followed by a vertical incision along the underside of the breast.
Inverted T: Also called an anchor incision, this is the classic breast lift approach for patients with moderate to severe sagging. It is much like the vertical lift described above, but adds a horizontal incision along the inframammary fold (where the breast meets the chest), giving it the appearance of an upside-down T. Dr. Cooper usually recommends this procedure for patients with a significant amount of excess breast skin, or whose breasts are moderately deflated after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
