A Conversation With Dr. Cooper

Dr. Cooper’s passion for plastic surgery and his interest in getting to know patients on a personal level are unmistakable when he talks about his successful cosmetic surgery practice. Learn more about his background and his vision for creating one of the best practices in Jupiter and Palm Beach -South Florida in the following conversation:

We are obsessive about the details and the process. I am 100% cosmetic and I have more time to listen to my prospective patients and focus on their treatment plan. I specialize in two major surgical areas (face and breast) and perform all the non-surgical procedures. I operate in my own facility. There are no excuses when it comes to achieving the best possible surgical, non surgical or laser outcome. We have the experience, time and focus to differentiate ourselves and it shows in our results.

I am able to achieve outstanding results and in a safe operative environment because we specialize in two areas. I have a full time team that is the same on every operation. This advantage has resulted in communication and commitment of every team member. The overall commitment, focus, and specialization  of my surgical assistant and anesthesia provider is how I am able to perform outstanding and safe surgery

Communicating with patients about their appearance and helping them understand where I can make a significant improvement. I find the surgeries where I am reversing the aging process to be most gratifying. Seeing the patient look into the mirror after initially removing bandages a day after surgery and knowing I did my best work.

My goal is to be considered as one of the best plastic surgery practices in South Florida. The culture I’ve developed is centered on the patient. Our objective is to deliver superior surgical results which address each patient’s individualized concern. A critical component of our culture is spending time with our patients, listening to their problems and delivering honest and clear communication to ensure that the concerns of each patient are being understood and addressed. I don’t expect every consult to result in surgery or a non-surgical treatment, as not everyone will benefit from a cosmetic procedure. My job is to create the trust necessary for my patients to take that advice and understand that I have their best interest in mind.

I am a fully trained, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. I specialize in my craft, and by that, I mean the art and science of plastic surgery for the neck, face, breast, and body. I specialize in determining and executing the best approach for creating optimal aesthetic results with the least amount of downtime for my patients.

I graduated with honors from both the University of Miami undergraduate and medical schools. I completed my training in Boston in the Combined Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency Program. This six-year program encompassed the three major Harvard teaching hospitals as well as Boston Children’s Hospital for pediatrics. In my final year of the program, my chief residency was completed at Massachusetts General Hospital.

My father was a cosmetic surgeon. He was a visionary in the area of medical tourism. He had offices in Stuart, Florida and New York City. He was a face lift surgeon. I was exposed to many aspects of cosmetic surgery and always wanted to be a cosmetic surgeon.

I was raised in Stuart, Florida, just about a half-hour up the coast from my Jupiter, FL practice. It was a long standing goal during my residency and years in practice at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to bring what I’ve learned back to South Florida. That reality came to be with my South Florida cosmetic surgery practice.

Life is short and time is precious. I enjoy my time away from the office with my family. I have two high school age daughters. We live by the beach and we ski a lot when we have time off. I live my life in the “now”.

Ideal patients have a cosmetic concern or area they want to improve. They  have a realistic expectation with respect to what improvement is possible. They have a time frame for the procedure. They have an understanding of the associated recovery and a support system to assist them. A healthy, well-informed patient with a realistic expectation and good overall support is preferred.
