Lower Facelift in Jupiter & Palm Beach FL with Dr. Jason Cooper
Correcting Early Signs of Aging
Women and men who are concerned about some of the early signs of aging may be excellent candidates for a Lower Facelift, sometimes also referred to as a mini-facelift. In South Florida, facelift specialist and board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Cooper performs a mini-facelift to restore a natural, youthful appearance, with shorter incisions and quicker recovery than are required for a full facelift. Women and men from Palm Beach and surrounding areas trust Dr. Jason Cooper for facial procedures, which he has mastered over the past decade as a resident and then as an instructor in the Harvard Medical School plastic surgery program.

Speaking From Experience
“This is one of my favorite procedures because of the delicate artistry that’s involved in making subtle, natural-looking changes. To me, it’s all about reversing the earliest signs of facial aging, and helping patients look like younger, more rested versions of themselves.” – Dr. Cooper
What Is a Mini-Facelift?
A mini-facelift, which Dr. Cooper prefers to describe as a Lower Facelift, addresses many of the same areas of the face as those targeted by a full facelift, but requires shorter incisions and involves less skin removal. It doesn’t halt the aging process, but can turn back the clock for patients whose skin remains relatively elastic, usually men and women in their mid to late 40s and 50s. You may be a good candidate for a lower-facelift if:
- You have minor neck sagging
- Your cheeks are beginning to lose volume and sag
- Jowls and nasolabial folds are forming
Customizing Your Procedure
Dr. Jason Cooper believes addressing the signs of facial aging early pays welcome dividends in the future. During your consultation, he assesses your skin’s elasticity and evaluates the wrinkles and sagging to determine if a mini-facelift is appropriate for your cosmetic goals. If a mini-facelift is recommended, Dr. Cooper can give the jawline more definition, tighten minor sagging in the neck, and reposition the tissues underlying the skin to give your cheeks a more lifted look.
If necessary, he may use liposuction in the neck to remove excess fat.
What to Expect from a Lower Facelift (Mini-Facelift)
Dr. Cooper provides patients with detailed post-operative instructions to help them during the recovery process. Although recovery time varies from patient to patient, there are some general guidelines to keep in mind:
Immediately After
Mini-facelift recovery is typically easier and associated with less bruising and swelling than a full facelift. The patient is discharged shortly after a brief recovery period. Dr. Cooper encourages patients to get up and walk periodically to enhance the circulation and help the healing process. Swelling, bruising, and tenderness are common and likely will increase during the first couple of days before peaking. Medication prescribed to relieve discomfort should be taken before pain becomes severe.
First Week After
Bandages are removed in most cases at the first follow-up appointment. You cannot drive if you’re still taking prescription pain relief medication. Expect to take at least a week off from work and limit your daily activities during that time. Postpone resuming exercise for the first week, and then gradually resume light workouts for the next 3 to 4 weeks.
The Next Few Weeks
You may still look bruised and puffy for several weeks, although most patients feel comfortable going out socially after 2 or 3 weeks. If you are planning to attend an important social or work-related event, such as a wedding or an important convention, plan your surgery at least 3 months in advance.
