Neck Lift for Men
The neck is a part of the body that commonly ages or shows visible signs of aging early on. The skin on the neck may begin to lose elasticity as we get older and will begin to sag and give us the appearance of looking older or heavier than we are. A neck lift can be done on its own or along with a facelift in order to get a full solution. A neck lift is the only more permanent solution to augmenting the neck and addressing skin laxity.
At our practice, we offer customized male neck lifts to improve:
- Skin laxity on the neck
- Horizontal wrinkles forming from excess skin and fat
- The look of a “double chin”
What Makes a Male Neck Lift Different?
A neck lift performed on a man is done just the same as it would be done on a woman. The difference is how the structure is treated. Many men want to eliminate the excess skin and fat that conceals the chin. The appearance of a strong and angular jawline is traditionally seen as a masculine and fit characteristic for men.
Is a Neck Lift Right for You?
If you feel that the appearance of your neck and chin are getting in the way of your facial structure and confidence, a neck lift could be a good solution for you. A neck lift is mainly intended to correct the presence of excess tissue and skin on the chin and neck area. A neck lift is not intended to remove large amounts of fat from the neck area. If you are within close range of your healthy weight and the source of the problem mainly exists with excess skin, a neck lift may be right for you. More mature skin often has a hard time staying firm due to the lack of collagen production in the skin as we age.

What to Expect from Your Procedure
The incisions made will depend on the extent of the work that needs to be done. The platysma muscle is typically sewn together tightly to create a smooth surface to the neck. Incisions will be made either under the chin or also behind the ears if the neck lift is being done for a more dramatic correction or in conjunction with a facelift. The scars from this procedure will be easily hidden underneath the chin or behind the ears. The results of this procedure are long lasting when patients carefully follow the recovery instructions provided by Dr. Cooper. Post-procedure you will most likely feel some tightness in the neck and experience some bruising and swelling. These side effects will subside in a matter of days but swelling and tightness may be longer lasting.
