A mommy makeover is a popular option for South Florida women who want to restore their bodies after having children. Dr. Jason Cooper performs this combination procedure to enhance areas hardest hit by pregnancy, and help women look fit and feel confident after childbearing. Dr. Jason Cooper specializes in mommy makeovers and sees patients from Palm Beach Gardens and throughout South Florida.
What Is a Mommy Makeover?
Pregnancy can put major stress on a woman’s body mentally and physically. This stress can come in the form of breasts that have grown in size and subsequently shrunk, loose abdominal skin, and lingering fat. Dr. Cooper has a comprehensive approach when addressing these concerns and combines the following procedures when performing mommy makeover:
Combining the procedures in a single operation is an approach that is both safe and cost-effective for the patient. Another appealing feature for busy moms is that they achieve full-body results without multiple recovery periods.
Speaking From Experience
“I consider the entire body, even when I’m only operating on the breasts or abdomen. I always try to maintain anatomic body relationships because I want my patients to look like better versions of themselves after surgery, and to keep them from having a ‘surgical’ look.”
Customize Your Procedure
Not every woman’s body recovers the same from pregnancy and the birthing process, so customizing the procedure can be key to getting good results. Dr. Cooper customizes these procedures on a case-by-case basis. This allows him to assess the patient’s body, current concerns, and goals. Dr. Cooper listens closely to what you want to achieve through a mommy makeover and then explains the procedures he can combine to meet those goals. In most mommy makeover procedures, Dr. Cooper will perform a breast lift and reshape the breasts to appear more symmetrical and perky. If a patient wants larger breasts or fuller cleavage, breast augmentation would then be part of the procedure. For a flatter tummy, there a few different approaches to address this concern. If the source of the problem is weakened muscles, Dr. Cooper will perform a mini or a full tummy tuck. If the source of the problem is mainly excess fat and the patient’s skin has good elasticity, liposuction would be the procedure of choice. Liposuction can be used to smooth the abdomen, waist, and flanks. Some may also want liposuction done to their hips, thighs, or buttocks to complete the body contour.

What to Expect
One of the benefits of combining procedures in a mommy makeover is that there is a single recovery period. The length of recovery depends on the procedures Dr. Cooper combines – a factor which varies for each patient. A full recovery following a tummy tuck combined with breast enhancement can take up to several months. Dr. Cooper provides detailed postoperative instructions to help patients heal as quickly and comfortably as possible. Bruising, swelling, and soreness will probably increase during the first several days of recovery before beginning to taper. Walking around is important to help your circulation, although you will not be able to walk upright for a few days after a tummy tuck. Although most patients begin to feel like they can resume their normal daily activities about 10 days after surgery, it’s important to avoid trying to do too much.
