Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a noninvasive procedure the resurfaces the skin by gently exfoliating the top layer of dead skin cells. This stimulates collagen growth to create smoother, more radiant skin. This treatment also helps products such as moisturizers, creams, and lotions to be more easily absorbed, and therefore, most effective.

This treatment can be used on:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest
  • Hands

Microdermabrasion can be used to address a variety of skin issues, including:

  • Dull skin
  • Sun damage
  • Acne Scars
  • Fine Lines
  • Clogged pores

Results

There are minimal side effects and downtime associated with microdermabrasion. Some patients may experience mild swelling and redness; however, this should resolve with time. Makeup can be applied once the skin normalized, and you may return to your normal daily activities. Be sure to wear sunscreen when spending time outdoors to protect your skin and prolong results.

Most patients need a series of treatments to see optimal results, which can range from 5-12 spaced 2-4 weeks apart.
